Buffalo, NY (WBEN) The move to the new Oishei Children's Hospital has been smooth say hospital officials.

"We're ahead of schedule. Everything has been seamless. The plan we've been talking about has been executed to perfection," says Kaleida's Jody Lomeo. "We're looking at sometime this evening having a full house at Oishei Children's Hospital." Lomeo says when a move like this is made, time is built in in the event of difficulty, but none of that has occurred. He says families have reacted positively. "It goes from anxiety to seeing this facility and the freshnees, brightness and comfort, and they like it," says Lomeo.

The pediatric and intensive care units are vacant, says Cassie Church. "We are finishing the pediatric area and then we're 2/3 of the way through the neo natal intensive care unit," says Church. She credits the practice runs for developing a routine to make the move seamless.

The first baby, a boy, was born at 12:12pm. The first surgery was also a success.
