Niagara, NY (WBEN) State Police say a domestic incident led to shelter in place yesterday in the town of Niagara.

Troopers say 57 year old Michael Greaser tried to block his wife from leaving their home, threatening to shoot her and himself with a long gun. Greaser's wife was eventually able to get out and called troopers.

Greaser was gone when they arrived, but troopers say Niagara Town Police  reported a location for Greaser at a girlfriend’s residence on Grauer Road in the Town of Niagara.

As a safety precaution a shelter in place was issued to the surrounding area.  Greaser exited the residence and was taken into custody without incident.

Greaser is charged with kidnapping and menacing. Greaser was processed and arraigned at the Town of Lewiston Court and remanded to the Niagara County Jail on $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond.
