Local Restaurant Week has a feast of fun to enjoy: it’s the 20th edition (10th year) for the biannual event that celebrates the role that local independent eateries play in both our cultural identity and regional economy. Starting with just 60 restaurants in 2009, the event now features more than 200 from every corner of WNY.

This year’s fall edition is served up from October 15 through the 21st.

With dining features (breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner) priced at $20.18 (coinciding with the year), $30.18 and/or $40.18, folks have a tasty reason to skip the national chains and give the wide range of independents a try.

Here’s more to dish about:

  • WNY's "Local Restaurant Week" is one of the largest "restaurant week" concepts in the country.  “We are in the Top 5, in good company with cities much larger than ours, including NYC, Chicago, LA and Washington DC,” noted Christa Hobart, LRW organizer.
  • LRW pumps more than $8 million in annual economic impact
  • The local food service industry is the area’s second largest employer
  • "Snap & Share" photos while chowing down; use #LocalRestaurantWeek on social media for a chance to be featured on area billboard
