Some Questioning if Festival Will Happen at All

(WBEN) - Tickets for the Woodstock 50th Anniversary festival at Watkins Glen were supposed to go on sale Monday, but that date has been pushed back to some time in the near future with no explanation given.

It's the latest in a series of events that have made people question whether or not the festival will actually take place.

One of the festivals headlining acts, The Black Keys, have dropped off the lineup citing "scheduling issues," and multiple reports say that the festival's organizers have yet to secure a mass gathering permit from the New York State Department of Health.

"The lineup really is great," said Nik Rivers of Alternative Buffalo. "I'm curious to see if someone else backs out. If another band drops out, that's going to be a weird feeling. The insider info I'm hearing from agents is that they can't communicate back and forth with the festival and they're not getting contracts done. It just seems weird."

The Festival is supposed to be held August 16-18. Rivers said that if tickets aren't on sale within a mont, it will be a major red flag. No ticket pricing info has been released.
