Woman Pleads Guilty in Cold Case

Admits to killing Purple Heart recipient in 1983

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) A Buffalo woman pleads guilty to a cold case murder from the 1980s.

51-year-old Saundra Adams of Buffalo has pleaded guilty to Manslaughter in the First Degree just a day into jury selection in her murder trial. 

On June 23, 1983, Adams and an unknown accomplice broke into a home on Hastings Avenue in Buffalo and caused the death of 92-year-old Edmund Schreiber, a World War I veteran awarded a purple heart for injuries suffered in battle.

Adams faces a maximum of 25 years in prison when she is sentenced on November 6, 2017 at 9:30 a.m.
