Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Snow will be the order of the day across Buffalo and Western New York as a general snowfall overtakes the region.  A snow total of 4 to 8 inches is in the forecast and a Winter Weather Advisory is posted for the region.

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 4 to 8 inches
expected. The heaviest snow will fall during the mid afternoon
through early evening.

* WHERE...Niagara, Orleans, Monroe, Erie, Genesee, Wyoming,
Livingston, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Allegany counties.

* WHEN...Until 10 PM EST this evening.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on snow covered and slippery road
conditions developing making travel difficult. The hazardous
conditions will significantly impact the evening commute.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Periods of snow will result in snow covered roads and limited
visibilities. Slow down and use caution while driving.
