Clarence, NY (WBEN) - High winds knocked out power to two NYSEG substations yesterday evening. 11,000 customers were without power at one point.

There were reports of outages in Clarence, Cheektowaga, and Amherst throughout the evening.

The one substation in Elma was back online within hours, but it took NYSEG crews longer to address the substation in Clarence Center.  That one was restored sometime around 1:00 a.m.

National Grid saw problems as well, with over 400 customers in the same area seeing power outages.  According to National Grid's website, they had fixed the problem sometime after 3:00 a.m.
