Williamsville, NY (WBEN) - Yet another Western New York Festival kicks off today.

Williamsville's Old Home Days starts up on Tuesday, running 10:00am to 11:00 at night now through this Friday.

"The community loves to get together for this event," said Dan Rizzo, one of the event's organizers. "We host a lot of class reunions, we have a really big beer tent, we have rides for the children, a lot of food and games. It's just a great carnival for the community to come together and they look forward to it every year."

"We've worked year-round to produce the event and it's finally here. We're just hoping for good weather."

Though the weather isn't expected to be festival-friendly on Wednesday, Rizzo said the rain shouldn't matter too much because the beer tent is big enough to fit just about everyone who plans on heading out.

Amherst Police are reminding drivers that there will be increased pedestrian traffic along Main Street in Williamsville , especially by the town and village hall, for the remainder of the week.
