Buffalo, NY (WBEN) As Buffalo Bills fans are introduced to Brandon Beane this morning, some fans are wondering just who he is. A Charlotte sportscaster says the new Bills GM has worked his way up in Carolina.

Chuck Howard of Fox 46 in Charlotte says he's impressed with Beane. "There isn't a job he hasn't done with the Panthers. He's done communications, worked in the equipment room, scouting department and coaching department," says Howard. "He truly is a young guy and a lot of Panther fans didn't know who he was until his name started to surface. They're wondering why the Panthers would let him go but there are 32 GM jobs in the NFL and Beane is highly qualified for the job."

Howard says there was a disconnect between the coaching staff and the front office in Buffalo. "What Brandon has learned here in Carolina, is having a symbiotic relationship between the head coach and general manager," says Howard. "Sean McDermott knew that while he was here, and I think that's why he went to Terry Pegula and told him Beane's a bright kid and does it the right way. Beane will work hand in hand with the head coach."

McDermott was hired as head coach earlier this year. Beane will be meeting with reporters at 10:30 this morning.
