West Side Man Charged with Aggravated Animal Cruelty

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) A Buffalo man is charged with Aggravated Cruelty to Animals, a Class “E” felony, and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He's accused of killing a cat.

Prosecutors say 40 year old Antonio Martin hanged a cat inside an apartment on Carolina Street in Buffalo on Sunday. They add Martin also sent photos of the deceased cat to two juveniles via text message.

Martin is scheduled to return to court on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. for a felony hearing. He was released on his own recognizance.

If convicted on all charges, he faces a maximum sentence of 2 years in jail.
