BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - Thousands of jobs in Western New York are available and unemployed residents will have an entire week to find work.

The program, called “Buffalo Works”, runs all during the week of April 24-28.

“Our entire community is coming together and uniting in a powerful way to make sure that residents in the City of Buffalo but also the residents in our region will be able to take advantage of the thousands of job opportunities being created in the City of Buffalo,” Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown said Tuesday.

Among the locations citizens can find work include the Northland Corridor Redevelopment Project, Canalside, Buffalo Bisons, Hospitality, and more.

The largest single-day event will be Wednesday April 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. where over 2,200 job opportunities are available from over 60 businesses at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Some of the businesses at Wednesday’s job fair include Kaleida Health, Tesla, ECMC, Roswell, and more.

“It’s important to note that over the next two years in the City of Buffalo it’s projected that over 12,000 new jobs are going to be created,” Brown said.
