ECMC's work on a new, expanded emergency department reached a milestone yesterday with a topping off ceremony.  Business First reports the $58 million expansion project is two-thirds complete.  The plan is to finish by next April.  The project will increase total patient bays from 36 to 54, while adding new CT scanners and a covered drop-off area for ambulances.

As expected, the Buffalo Planning Board approved a pair of procedural measures requested by D'Youville College.  This allows D'Youville to continue work on its $20 million Health Professions Hub.

Also from the Planning Board session - and reported by Business First - Uniland Development Co. and Commercial Pipe and Supply Corp. have reached an agreement on easement issues related to neighboring parcels on Hertel near Elmwood.

WellNow Urgent Care has formed a partnership with Albany-based St. Peter’s Health Partners.  Under terms, WellNow’s two Albany-area sites and the six operated by St. Peter’s will co-brand under the same name, with plans to continue developing a network of urgent care centers.  The move gives WellNow more than 30 urgent care locations across New York and Illinois.
