Ellicott Development Co. has closed three of its 10 area hotels due in part to the coronavirus crisis.  According to Business First, those hotels are the Fairfield Inn & Suites on Rensch Road in Amherst, the Country Inn & Suites on Slade Avenue in West Seneca and the Wingate by Wyndham in Ellicottville.  All guests booked for those properties were shifted to nearby hotels that remain open.  That move also putting 50 people out of work.

The U.S. Small Business Administration’s Disaster Customer Service Center is hiring positions in response to COVID-19.  Disaster recovery specialists will respond to customer inquiries, providing information to the public regarding SBA’s Economic Injury Disaster Loan Program by phone and/or email.  For more information and to apply go to USAJOBS.gov, keywords “Disaster Recovery Specialist.”

Dollar General plans to nearly double its normal hiring rate and add up to 50,000 employees by the end of April as it continues to diligently work to support customers’ needs during the coronavirus crisis.  Dollar General currently operates more than 16,300 stores in 45 states.
