NYSDOT announcing a contract has been awarded to design and build the new intermodal station on Exchange Street.  That contract is for an estimated $27.7 million.  The new station will be constructed on the same grounds as the existing 66-year-old Amtrak Station, but will be elevated and moved closer to the street to improve access and visibility.  A planned second phase of the project will expand the station further to accommodate intercity bus service and additional train routes.  The project is expected to be completed in the Fall of 2020.

From Business First - The Draft Room, a showcase for Labatt USA-brewed beers and menu items created by Pegula Sports and Entertainment’s hospitality division, is getting a new neighbor.  Bakery 55, located near the Draft Room’s beer garden, is expected to open later this winter.  As the name implies, it will sell breads, rolls, pretzels, pastries and desserts along with specially crafted coffee drinks. 

KeyBank has announced that Catherine Braniecki, Senior Vice President and Northeast Regional Corporate Responsibility Officer, will retire on December 31st.  Kawanza Humphrey will be promoted to that position. 

The University at Buffalo ranks 59th among U.S. universities for research and development activity, according to new data from the National Science Foundation.
