Opening For the Season Friday

Old Man River at 375 Niagara Street in Tonawanda - across from Niawanda Park - is set to open tomorrow, April 26th.  Along with traditional fan favorites, Old Man River is now offering Vegan options and gluten free selections.

French-themed restaurant Mon Ami opened in early March in the former Globe Market space within the Cathedral Place building at 298 Main Street.  Business First reports it has been so successful that it's adding weekend brunch hours from 9am-2pm, beginning April 27th.

Out of $110 million allocated to the New York Parks 2020 initiative, seven Western New York will be getting a combined $8 million toward improvements.  Among the projects funded: $800,000 for permanent restrooms and an office at Buffalo Harbor State Park, $900,000 to enhance the park gateway at Devil's Hole State Park and $2 million toward work on tearing down the Robert Moses Parkway.

Susan G. Komen Upstate New York has invested over $193,000 in five organizations in the Western New York region that support life-saving breast cancer initiatives and breast health programs for local women.  Those receiving funds were: ECMC Foundation, the Erie County Health Department, The International Institute, Kevin Guest House and The Research Foundation of State University of New York on behalf of the University at Buffalo.
