The local average price for a gallon of unleaded in the region is down to $2.71, according to the AAA.  That reflects a three cent per gallon drop from last week's price.  The price has dropped ten cents in the past month.  

The Gordon Cos. has some grand holiday plans.  Business First reporting that four new Halloween pop-up retailing locations will be opening.  Dave’s Halloween Superstores pop-up sites - which will run through October 31st - will be at the Boulevard Mall in Amherst; a second Fashion Outlets location; the Premier Place Plaza on Transit Road in Amherst; and McKinley Mall in Hamburg.  In November, two Dave’s Christmas Wonderland pop-up stores are planned for the Boulevard Mall and Fashion Outlets.  In addition, Dave’s Christmas Wonderland stores will open in the Premier Place plaza and McKinley Mall.

D’Youville College goes before the Buffalo Planning Board today in hopes of gaining approval for its $20 million plan for a Health Professions Hub.  Zoning changes are required in order to construct the three-story, 50,000-square-foot building along Connecticut Street.  

Catholic Health has hired Dr. Hui Jiang-Saldana as executive vice president and COO.  She begins work in October.
