According to the AAA, the average cost for a gallon of unleaded gas in WNY has slid a penny from last week - to $2.99.  The national average is $2.85 - down five cents in the past week.

This morning marks the return of Pano's Restaurant on Elmwood near Forest.  It will re-open to customers beginning at 9am.

Vacation Express, through its Sunwing Airlines affiliate, will begin seasonal flights between Buffalo and Jamaica as of January 25th, 2019.  The service will run through April 19th.  As reported by Business First, flights will leave Buffalo every Friday morning.  Return flights will arrive later in the afternoon.

Also from Business First, Uniland and Blue Cardinal have paid just over $2 million for eight separate parcels along Elmwood, Hertel and Norris Avenues.  That purchase, plus an earlier one, give the entities control of 20 acres in the footprint for a planned mixed-use project.  

Northwest Bancshares, Inc. and Northwest Bank has announced that Ronald J. Seiffert has been named President and Chief Executive Officer of both companies.
