Gas Prices Down Slightly

The current average cost for a gallon of unleaded gas in the Buffalo-Niagara Falls region slipped a penny from last week to $2.61.  The AAA noting there's been just a three cent drop in gas prices over the past month here.

The West Herr Automotive Group has acquired Transitowne Hyundai.  Their newest brand, and the 26th dealership for the group, will reside at a new location on Transit Road in Williamsville near Maple Road.  West Herr Hyundai will be located next to the current West Herr Used Car Outlet.

500 Pearl Street's bowling alley - dubbed the Spare Room - debuts tomorrow.  According to Business First, the lanes will be open starting at 4pm weekdays and noon on weekends. The eight lanes are complemented by arcade games, bubble hockey, foosball and darts.

Michael W. Russell, PhD, professor emeritus in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology in the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo, has been awarded the distinction of Fellow by the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
