Local Firms Waive Coronavirus Fees

BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York is eliminating any and all costs for its members related to COVID-19 testing and treatment.  This includes all Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and fully insured Commercial members.  No co-pays, no cost-shares and no-coinsurance will be required from members effective April 1st through May 31st.  This includes any testing, care or treatment provided anywhere in the United States for members.

Similarly, Univera Healthcare will waive out of pocket costs for COVID-19 medical testing, diagnosis and treatment for its fully insured employer groups, individual market qualified health plans and Medicare Advantage members for the next 60 days.  This waives the member’s copayment or cost share for testing, diagnosis and treatment, even if that treatment is delivered in the hospital.

The Billittier Family - owners of Chef's Restaurant - have donated 600 meals to Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital.  Chef's will be closing its downtown Buffalo and Amherst drive through locations at the end of business tomorrow.

Badar Khan has been appointed President of the U-S Business of National Grid.
