BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - Erie County Sheriff's arrested a Village of Alden Resident following a raid at the Exchange Street home of a Village of Alden man.

Joseph Jurek, 28, was arrested after Erie County Sheriff's Narcotics Units recovered four pounds of marijuana and approximately $3,800 in cash. Jurek was charged with felony criminal possession of marijuana and is being held at the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment in the Village of Alden Court.

Jurek was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child. His one-month-old child was in the apartment at the time of the arrest. Child Protective Services was notified.

"This year we've had a bust of 100 pounds," Scott Zylka from the Sheriff's Office told WBEN. "That's quite significant. This is definitely larger than someone who is just casually smoking or casually using the drug. That's quite a bit for personal consumption."

The raid followed a two-month investigation. The raid occurred around 7:30 a.m. on Friday.
