UB Dorm Fire at North Campus

5 students relocated

Amherst, N.Y. (WBEN) - There was a dorm room fire at the University of Buffalo North Campus Sunday.

It started on the 1st floor of Dewey Hall in the Governors complex around 11am.

Eight hundred students were evacuated. During the incident, UB activated its UB Alert system to communicate with all members of the university community. Four UB Alerts were sent via text, email, twitter and website postings.

Two rooms were damaged and five students had to be relocated to other residence halls.
