Two BPD Officers Dragged During Traffic Stop

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) Two Buffalo Police officers were injured after they were dragged during a traffic stop Tuesday evening. 

Police say around 11:30pm, Officers Matthew Cross and Vincent Judge conducted a traffic stop, approaching a vehicle that was illegally parked. Police say the officers saw a firearm in the waistband of one of the suspects.

Police say the suspects fought with the officers and sped off, dragging the officers for six house lengths.

Buffalo Police arrested Marcus Prewitt, 28, of Buffalo and Nicolas Johnson, 30, of Buffalo and charged them with Criminal Possession of a Weapon – 2nd degree, Obstructing Governmental Administration – 2nd degree, Resisting Arrest, attempted Assault of a Police Officer, Reckless Endangerment – 2nd, Assault – 2nd degree and Reckless driving.

Buffalo Police arrested (2) individuals for possession of a loaded weapon and the assault of (2) police officers , Matthew Cross and Vincent Judge .

Both officers were injured and are seeking medical attention at ECMC.
