Tonawanda, N.Y. (WBEN) - Two Town of Tonawanda Paramedics are accused of stealing prescription drugs from the drug deposit container located in Town of Tonawanda Police Headquarters. The two paramedics were arrested Friday night by Town of Tonawanda Police on suspicion of criminal possession of a controlled substance after an internal investigation was ordered by Chief Jerome Uschold.

It is believed that both medics, Jon Cinelli and Jeremy Pecoraro, have been keeping the drugs for personal use rather than selling them.

Paramedic Cinelli first came under suspicion after it was discovered that he was violating departmental procedure by emptying out the prescription drug collection bin alone. Town of Tonawanda Police Departmental policy requires that two paramedics empty out the bin together. After the investigation was launched into the procedural violation by Cinelli, Paramedic Pecoraro was also implicated in the theft of pain killers.

Paramedic Cinelli has worked as a Town of Tonawanda Paramedic for twenty-two and a half years and Paramedic Pecoraro has worked as a Town of Tonawanda Paramedic for the past four and a half years.

Both Paramedics have been suspended without pay pending termination proceedings.
