THURSDAY: James Comey One-on-One With WBEN

Comey: "I'm a pretty fair-minded idiot"

(WBEN) - In a one-on-one interview with WBEN, former FBI Director James Comey addressed the Clinton investigation, his handling of that leaked memo, and why he's coming out and talking now.

In the interview, which will air in its entirety Thursday morning on WBEN, Comey was asked about whether any goal he had in writing the book will not be accomplished because he has lost a sense of non-partisanship.

"I don't think so," Comey told WBEN. "When people read the book, they'll realize I'm telling the truth when I say it's not about Donald Trump. It's about stories that helped me form a picture, including stories where I did things I'm not proud of, that helped me develop a picture of what ethical leadership should look like."

"Even if you think I'm an idiot, I'm a pretty fair-minded idiot, and I'm not on either side."

Comey's book, 'A Higher Loyalty' hit shelves on Tuesday.

Listen to the entire interview when it airs Thursday morning on WBEN.
