Buffalo, NY (WBEN) It's that time of year again, when foodies have their appetites whetted, ready for the weekend when the Taste of Buffalo lines up along Delaware Avenue.

For restaurants it's a chance to show off a twist on a favorite. In Raul Parker's case, the Dirty Bird is about chicken and waffles. "You have to put your own spin on it. In all we have 11 different sandwiches based on chicken and waffles," says Parker. The traditional beef on weck meets egg rolls at Local. "Beef on weck egg rolls are different, easy to eat and not so messy," says Peter Hammerl.

One thing Taste participants must prepare for but can't control is the weather. "You don't know how the weather's going to be," says Jordan Stapf of Chiavetta's. "We've been lucky the last few years, but knowing how much you've got to do, it's a guessing game, and you've got to be ready at all times."

Normally, Michael Pierro of Mineo and Sapio operates out of a food truck. This weekend, he'll work out of a tent, and agrees on the weather. "Working under a tent's a bit tougher, esecially when the weather's not cooperating," says Pierro.

There's one important change in tickets, but Erin Collins says you won't spend any more than in years past. "They are valued for a dollar for the first time in a year. Prices remain the same," says Collins. She says the goal is to provide an even exchange and a streamlined experience.

The Taste of Buffalo is Saturday 11am-9pm and Sunday from 11am-7pm.
