Stepson Charged With Murder in Rudy Ray Rockett Case

Multiple gun shot wounds found on stepfather's body

NIAGARA COUNTY, N.Y. (WBEN) -29-year-old Gregory Roy of Porter has been charged with second degree murder of his step father 64-year-old Rudy Ray Rockett Sr. by the the Niagara County Grand Jury. 

Rockett was last seen on April 29th when he left with Roy to go to the Buffalo Airport. The deceased body of Rockett was found in a small ravine in East Otto on May 19th. 

Niagara County District Attorny Caroline Wojtaszek says Rockett was found with multiple gun shot wounds. 

"Evidence suggests that the death occured in a private vehicle during a trip through more than one country," Wojtaszek said. "Specifically Niagara County, Erie County, potentially in Cattaraugus County."

Niagara County Sheriff Tom Vontour says they receieved a tip that led to discovering Rockett's body.

Roy has been arraigned and remanded to the Niagara County Jail. The investigation is still on going.
