Spring? Sort of.

But don't put away the snow brush just yet!

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - When Spring officially arrives just before 6pm Wednesday, it will actually look and feel like the new season with sunshine and temperatures near 50 degrees.  But as the days tick forward, Spring may be a little more difficult to spot.

After the season change settles-in today, temperatures will begin to fall to the unseasonable 30's and there is snow in the forecast for Friday and Saturday.

But keep your eyes and mind on Sunday, when sunshine returns and temperatures will again near 50 degrees.

National Weather Service meteorologist John Hitchcock tells WBEN, "unfortunately we don't see any sustained warmth".  "We turn quite a bit colder for Friday and Saturday....there will be some snow", adds Hitchcock.  Some accumulation is possible late Friday into Saturday.  A warm-up returns Sunday before a dip back to unseasonably cold temperatures into much of next week.

Those ice mountains remain along the eastern end of Lake Erie, but Hitchcock tells us the ice cover over the lake has deteriorated greatly to the west of Erie, Pennsylvania.  Those lasting piles of ice along our end of Lake Erie will likely be around another few weeks.

The good news, however, is that the possibility of lake effect snow this late in the season is minimal.
