Sardinia, NY (WBEN) Erie County Sheriff's Deputies say they've shut down a meth lab in the Southtowns.

Deputies say the Narcotics Unit investigated a tip about methamphetamine activities at a storage rental unit in Sardinia. Deputies and Detectives observed several items and materials commonly used for manufacturing meth.  Their investigation led them to 31-year-old Margaret Heim and 38-year-old Steven Sullivan, both of Delevan.

Sullivan, the renter of the unit and a twice-convicted felon, was arrested and charged with a felony count of unlawful manufacturing of meth, and a misdemeanor count of criminal possession of a controlled substance.  Heim is also charged with a felony count of unlawful manufacturing of meth, and a misdemeanor count of criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Both defendants are held at the Erie County Holding Center pending their arraignment.
