CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WBEN) - Chick-fil-A opened their second location in Western New York, on the corner of Transit Road and Losson Road in Cheektowaga.

The first location, which opened about a year ago on Walden Avenue, made quite the scene with dozens of people camping out all night for the chance to win free Chick-fil-A for a year. The Transit Road location opened with far less fanfare and fewer people in the drive thru lines.

This opportunity was offered again for this opening, but instead of people camping out in the cold, a "red carpet" event was held Wednesday night to celebrate the opening, and a winner was chosen that evening.

Even if they didn't make it out Wednesday to win free chicken for a year, customers are still excited over their favorite menu items. For Lisa Carter from Buffalo, that is the breakfast sandwich.

"The chicken, the egg, and even add bacon with it as well, on a bagel," Carter said. "That's the best."

With the busyness that was experienced at the first location, perhaps the Depew opening will provide some relief to those crazy drive thru lines. But if not, one customer recommends his method for getting his food as quickly as possible.

"The lines usually look pretty long, I just order on the app. I walk in, pick it up, and walk out."
