Anaheim, CA (WBEN) - The goals didn't come from someone named Kane, Eichel, or Pominville early Monday morning.

Three different Sabres scored for the team in the first win of the season.  The Buffalo Sabres defeated the Anaheim Ducks 3 - 1 at Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

The first goal came from a guy who made a pretty good argument to be placed permanently on the roster.  Justin Bailey was called up from the AHL and on Sunday, made the flight out to California, and scored a goal within two minutes of the first period.

Bailey made his presence felt the rest of the night with hits and an overall strong game.

Benoit Pouliot and Johan Larsson scored as well, Larsson's being an empty net goal after some of the more prominent Sabres players missed with several chances.

Chad Johnson made 25 saves for the Sabres and had a good night in net, looking particularly confident in the third.

The Sabres continue their trip to the west coast on Tuesday, playing the NHL's newest team, the Vegas Golden Knights.
