Dylan Cozens and Ryan Johnson are eager for their first NHL development camp

Sabres Development Camp Begins Wednesday

"It's something that I've dreamed about for my whole life."

BUFFALO (WBEN) - It's that time of year where nearly every prospect in the Sabres system is in Buffalo for the week to work with coaches in both on and off ice training exercises. 

Among those in attendance are the team's first round picks from this weekend - Dylan Cozens and Ryan Johnson.

"It's definitely very exciting to be at my first NHL camp," said seventh overall pick Dylan Cozens. "It's something that I've dreamed about for my whole life, so to finally be here is very exciting."

Ryan Johnson was the final pick of the first round, and he explained that what he's seen of the city thus far has been really positive.

"It's been unbelievable; it's been really exciting, and I'm just grateful for this opportunity and just looking forward to the future," said Johnson. "The city is beautiful. It's unbelievable, and it's been really nice to me so far, so I'm just happy to be here."

The on ice sessions for Wednesday through Friday are free and open to the public, while Saturday's French Connection 3 vs. 3 tournament will be limited to season ticket holders.
