Buffalo, NY (WBEN) The Buffalo Sabres gave their home town fans an election night treat, beating the Washington Capitals 3-1.

Evander Kane scored two of those goals, one off a feed from Jack Eichel in the second period. The other assited by Jason Pominville in the third. Benoit Pouliot scored the other Sabres goal unassited.

The Sabres were energized after Jake McCabe and Tom Wilson dropped the gloves. Wilson leveled Sam Reinhart along the boards.  

Goalie Robin Lehner faced 25 shots. The Sabres got 32 shots on goal.

The Sabres play the Florida Panthers next in Florida Friday.
