Former Cheektowaga Councilman involved in domestic incident earlier this year

BUFFALO (WBEN) - Former Cheektowaga Town Councilman was sentenced to one year probation on Tuesday.

Rogowski pleaded guilty to attempted criminal contempt for knowingly violating a no-contact order. Prosecutors say Rogowski followed his wife in his vehicle in an aggressive manner by changing lanes to maintain pursuit of her vehicle and causing her to be fearful of imminent physical injury back in February.

Erie County District Attorney John Flynn says he believes the sentence was fair.

"Mr. Rogowski was sentenced today on the charge that he plead to a few months ago," said Flynn. "He was given one year probation and a no contact order of protection with both his wife and his children. I think this was a fair sentence."

Rogowski must also complete a 40-week domestic violence course.
