NORTH TONAWANDA (WBEN) - On Monday afternoon, State Assemblyman Sean Ryan joined members of the Buffalo Heritage Carousel Board of directors to get a look at the recently restored carousel to be placed at Canalside.

Back in 2015, Ryan secured $600,000 for the project to restore a 1924 Herschell-Spillman carousel, which will make it safe for public use.

"It's almost done; 25 of the 31 of the horses are complete," said Ryan. "The mechanicals are in Ohio being refurbished, and they are almost complete...The carousel is going to be a great fit for everything we're trying to build in our new Buffalo. It's going to be a year-round attraction; it's going to complement the Explore & More museum, and it's going to help people of all ages to come down to the waterfront and be able to access it. It's going to be perfect and only cost $1 per ride."
