Police Out in Force this Weekend

Troopers Teaming Up with local Police

(WBEN)  New York State Troopers were warning that they would be out in force this Memorial Day weekend looking for people who weree driving when they shouldn't be. They have been teaaming up with local law enforcement officials to try and catch people at sobriety checkpoints. We have received the following statistics from the NYSP:

On May 24, 2019, Members of the New York State Police and Lackawanna Police Department conducted a sobriety checkpoint on Hamburg Turnpike in the City of Lackawanna. The following subjects were arrested and released to appear in Lackawanna City Court at a later date:

Rodney J. Warren, 46 of Buffalo, Driving While Intoxicated

James B. Farris, 57 of Derby, Driving While Intoxicated

Joseph M. Bartolucci, 30 of Blasdell, Driving While Intoxicated

Maurice R. Brown 24 of Buffalo, Unlawful Possession of Marihuana

Isaiah Bolden, 23 of Buffalo, Unlawful Possession of Marihuana

1864 vehicles traveled through the checkpoint and in addition to the 3 DWI arrests 20 traffic tickets were issued for various violations of the New York state Vehicle and Traffic Law.

 

On May 24, 2019, Members of the New York State Police, Warsaw Police Department and Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department conducted a sobriety checkpoint on State Route 20A in the Village of Warsaw. The following subjects were arrested and released to appear in Warsaw Village Court at a later date:

Jennifer A. Irish, 37 of Warsaw, Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs

Katy A. O’Brien, 34 of Warsaw, Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Criminal Possession of Marihuana 5th and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th

Stephenie S. Lee, 26 of Cleveland, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th and Unlawful Possession of Marihuana

672 vehicles traveled through the checkpoint and in addition to the 2 DWAI arrests 13 traffic tickets were issued for various violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.

 

On May 25th, 2019, Troopers out of SP Jamestown arrested Rachel Fuller, 38, of Conewango Valley, for Leandra’s Law DWI.

Fuller was pulled over on Route 62 in Jamestown for talking on her cell phone and after failing several SFSTs, Fuller was placed under arrest. The five and six year old children in Fuller’s vehicle were turned over to an uninvolved third party. Fuller was transported to SP Jamestown where she provided a breath sample of .16. Fuller was then processed, issued tickets and released. Fuller is scheduled to appear in the town of Kiantone Court next month.
