Fatal Car Crash in Wilson and BPD involved in Fight

(WBEN) Here is a rundown of some of the police stories from this weekend:

(WBEN)  Police in Niagara Falls are reporting a man in critical condition after being struck by a car Saturday morning. It happened about 12:20am in the 1900 Block of Walnut Avenue. The driver swerved to avoid the pedestrian and e3nded up hitting 2 trees. The 21-year old victim was taken the Niagara Falls Medical Center before being flown to ECMC where he was in c ritical condition.

 

(WBEN/Niagara County Sheriff Office)  Niagara County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating a one car crash last evening on Nelson Road in the Town of Wilson. They say the vehicle drove off the road and struck a tree. The driver was taken to the hospital where he lateer died. No name released yet.

 

(WBEN/Buffalo Police)  Buffalo police say three officers and one lieutenant suffered minor injuries during an arrest on the westside last night.

They were arresting a man for possession of drugs and an illegal gun near Ontario and Tonawanda Streets.

No serious injuries were reported. Police have not released the name of the suspect.

 

(WBEN/Buffalo Police)  A car-jacking near Buf-State yesterday afternoon. Buffalo Police report a man flashed what looked like a gun and forced the driver out of his car. It happened on Hawley near Letchworth Streets around 2:45 PM. The victim was not a student. Police report they have recovered the vehicle.

(WBEN/NYSP) State Police say a corrections officer at Albion is charged with having sex with two female inmates.

James W. Castonguay, age 29, of Amherst is charged with criminal sex act, official misconduct and rape. State Police say Castonguay had unlawful sexual relations with a female inmate at the Albion Correctional Facility. The joint investigation with DOCCS and State Police revealed a further allegation that Castonguay had unlawful sexual relations with a second female inmate.

Castonguay was arrested, processed at SP Albion and released with an appearance in Town of Albion Court later this month.
