Pendleton Highway Chief Facing Larceny Charges

Accused of using Town equipment at his residence

Lockport, N.Y.  (WBEN-Photo Courtesy WKBW TV) - The Town of Pendleton Highway Superintendent is facing several charges for allegedly using town equipment for his personal use.

Niagara County Sheriff James Voutour said 59 year old Jeffrey Stowell, of the Town of Pendleton, faces Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, a Felong, three counts of Petit Larceny, a Misdemeanor and one count of Official Misconduct, a Misdemeanor.  

Stowell was arrested following an investigation conducted by the Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Bureau.

Stowell is alleged to have used Town of Pendleton owned equipment and materials for his own personal work at his residence. It is also alleged that Stowell used Town of Pendleton employees to perform work at his residence and work on his personal vehicles. 

Town of Pendleton officials cooperated with law enforcement during this investigation. Stowell was arraigned in the Town of Lockport Court and was released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear back in the Court on January 14, 2020
