BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - A man is in critical condition after he was struck by two cars on Wednesday morning in Downtown Buffalo.

The pedestrian was hit as they tried to cross Niagara Street near Carolina at 6:50 a.m. according to Buffalo Police. The 48-year-old man was taken to ECMC.

The accident temporarily closed Niagara Street.

Buffalo Police Captain Jeff Rinaldo said investigators are seeing if the pedestrian did not use the crosswalk.

"The driver of the vehicle is being cooperative," he said.

No charges have been filed against the drivers. Rinaldo said that police do not believe the drivers were under the influence.
