Panasonic Holding Job Fair on July 26

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) – Panasonic ECO Solutions Solar along with Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown announced an upcoming job fair as part of the SolarCity project.

The job fair will be on July 26 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Buffalo Employment and Training Center in Buffalo. Job opportunities, according to a flyer at the training center, include production operators, team leaders, shift supervisors, technicians, engineers, and workers on the supply chain.

Mark Shima, President of the Panasonic ECO Solutions Solar of New York, said that Panasonic will be celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2018.

“Panasonic will bring our philosophies,” Shima said. “Such as ‘Develop people before producing the products’. We will also bring cutting edge technology…and also the long term experiences and know-hows of manufacturing.”

Mayor Brown announced the job fair will result in 300 jobs for Western New Yorkers. Approximately 150 positions will be filled by the end of August while the other 150 should be filled by the end of the calendar year.

SolarCity is expected to open by the end of the summer.
