BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - An Orchard Park hairdresser has been sentenced to prison after he sexually assaulted a 14-year-old boy at a salon in Orchard Park this summer.

After pleading guilty in July, Stephen Savaglio was given a split sentence of six months in prison and ten years of probation. He will also have to register as a sex offender.

Savaglio, 68, assaulted the boy in the basement of the hair salon while one of his parents was in the salon. He lost his job as a result of the May incident.

Savaglio could have received seven years in prison though he received the split sentence as part of his plea.

"I could really care less how embarrassed he is and how sorry he is," Flynn said. "I'm more concerned about how embarrassed the 14-year-old is. I'm more concerned about how the 14-year-old feels, quite frankly."
