(WBEN/AP) - A year after politics dominated the conversation and tone of the Golden Globes, there was barely a mention of such things at Sunday's ceremony.

This year, it was all gender politics, and the #MeToo movement that has engulfed Hollywood and spread into the culture at large. But with all the speeches, none roused the room like Oprah Winfrey's, who had the crowd giving her repeated ovations as she issued a warning - not once, but three times - to powerful men who abuse women.

She ended her speech with a call to young girls.

"I want all the girls watching here and now to know that a new day is on the horizon." she said. "And when that new day finally dawns, it will be because of a lot of magnificent women ... and some pretty phenomenal men, fighting hard to make sure that they become the leaders who take us to the time when nobody ever has to say, 'Me too,' again."

The speech had 'Oprah2020' trending on Twitter Sunday night and Monday morning.

The idea of a Democratic run by Oprah has at least one analyst laughing.

"There's always a lot of hypocrisy in politics," said political analyst Steve Roberts. "A lot of democrats who have said that the President is profoundly unqualified, he never ran for office, never understood Congress, should never be President... are all excited about the possibility of another reality TV star who is equally unprepared, unqualified, and inexperienced to be President."

Still, Roberts said the idea of Oprah winning an election isn't far-fetched.

"Trump proved a star could be a very attractive candidate, but there's a lot of hypocrisy there too," Roberts said. "She's no more qualified than Donald Trump ever was."
