BATAVIA, N.Y. (WBEN) - Republican hopefuls for the spot on the ballot in November for New York's 27th congressional district are meeting Tuesday at Batavia Downs Casinos with chairs representing counties in the district.

Each interview will last about 30 minutes with nine candidates scheduled to be interviewed.

"We're hearing from candidates about how they're best suited to represent the republican party in New York's 27th congressional district," Erie County GOP Chairman Nick Langworthy.

The candidates being interviewed are, in no particular order, Carl Paladino, Stefan Mychajliw, Michael Ranzenhofer, Chris Jacobs, Rob Ortt, Ray Walter, Steve Hawley, Ed Rath, and Lynne Dixon. Langworthy told WBEN that David DiPietro did not schedule an interview for Tuesday.

The candidates interviewing in order of appearance are:

  • Assemblyman Steve Hawley
  • Erie County Legislator Lynne Dixon
  • State Senator Rob Ortt
  • Erie County Legislator Ed Rath
  • State Senator Michael Ranzenhofer
  • Assemblyman Ray Walter
  • Carl Paladino
  • State Senator Chris Jacobs
  • Erie County Comptroller Stefan Mychajliw
