Not Summer Yet But..... Record Temps Expected

Parts of WNY might reach close to 70 degrees tomorrow

(WBEN) A sudden and stark warm-up is coming to Western New York Weather, with record breaking temperatures close to 70 degrees expected by mid-week.

"We are switching gears from the chilly weekend we had," says meteorologist Heather Kenyon at the National Weather Service . "We are expecting temperatures to be well above normal to start the work week, really continuing through wednesday. We have temepratures reaching the 50s today and even warmer Tuesday and Wednesday. We could see some records broken, especially on Tuesday when we see temeperatures close to the mid 60s."

The record high for both Tuesday and Wednesday is 64 degrees, and Kenyon says we will certainly be close to that, especially away from the lake,

A cooler Lake Erie will moderate temps near downtown Buffalo, but Kenyon says outlying areas as far east as Clarence or East Aurora, could possibly see temps touch 70 degrees Tuesday.
