BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - Friday begins what is expected to be the busiest day at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport due to holiday travel.

AAA of WNY projects that 111.5 million people will be out on the roads and in the air this holiday season.

The Buffalo Niagara International Airport anticipates the busiest times for departures to be between 5:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., and from 10 p.m. until midnight. For arrivals, expect the peak times to be between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. and from 10 p.m. until midnight.

They expect longer wait times at security checkpoints.
