Buffalo, NY (WBEN) A total of nine people have been taken to the hospital after a car and an NFTA bus collided with a parked car at East Delavan and Bailey Friday morning.

"The initial investigation has determined possibly one of the cars on Bailey Avenue may have run a red light," says NFTA Transit Police Chief George Gast, who says the bus was traveling west on Delavan and was struck by vehicle traveling south on Bailey. It appears the driver of that vehicle ran the red light and was traveling at a high rate of speed when striking the passenger side, front door of the bus. The bus then veered off the road into a parking lot and struck a parked vehicle. That vehicle was not occupied.

A total of 9 people were taken to the hospital, two with serious injuries.

Delavan was closed for several hours due to the accident.
