BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - Governor Cuomo announced on Thursday morning at Hamlin Park Claude & Ouida Clapp Academy a 50 percent increase for Buffalo Public Schools in its after school activities.

"We don't want you playing video games and we don't want you hanging around the house," Cuomo said. "We want you to learn more. So we're now funding after school programs so it doesn't end at 3 o'clock. We can provide more services and more help for the mind, for the body to stay in shape, to work through issues, to stay off the streets."

Buffalo Public Schools are receiving $1,416,000 to serve 885 students. Niagara Falls Schools receive $464,000 to serve 290 students.
