Wintry Weekend Follows Changeover to SNOW

Winter Storm Warning through Sunday morning

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - A wet and rainy mess early Saturday gives way to another dose of wintry weather across Western New York as the rain changes over to snow.

A winter storm warning is in effect from 2 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday in Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Southern Erie Counties. Expect anywhere from five to ten inches of snow with wind gusts as high as 40 miles per hour.

The northtowns aren't spared of snowy conditions, a winter weather advisory is in effect from 2 p.m. Saturday to midnight. Anywhere from three to five inches of snow will come down in Niagara, Orleans, Northern Erie, Genesee, and Monroe Counties.

Expect slippery road conditions.

7 AM EST SUNDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 5 to
  10 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...Wyoming, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Southern Erie
  counties. The greatest accumulations will be along the
  Chautauqua Ridge, Boston Hills, and higher terrain of Wyoming
  County.

* WHEN...From 2 PM this afternoon to 7 AM EST Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Travel will be very difficult.

AFTERNOON TO MIDNIGHT EST TONIGHT...

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 5.
  Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...Niagara, Orleans, Monroe, Northern Erie, and Genesee
  counties. The greatest accumulations inland from the lakes.

* WHEN...From 2 PM this afternoon to midnight EST tonight.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions.
