Master Plan for Eastern Hills Mall to be unveiled

$250 million mixed-use project planned for declining mall

AMHERST, N.Y. (WBEN) - A public meeting will take place where you can see the master plan for the future of the Eastern Hills Mall.

The meeting will take place at the food court at the Eastern Hills Mall on Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. The public information meeting will feature an appearance by Marc Bruffett, the Principal and Strategy Director for Gensler NYC.

Uniland Development Company plans to turn the declining 100-acre mall into a mixed-use redevelopment that features office, retail, residential, medical, hospitality, and recreation. They estimate the cost of a redeveloped mall to be $250 million. Gensler completed the master plan of the project. Phase one of their development will feature the design, financing, and leasing throughout next year. Construction is expected to start next year.
