Buffalo, NY (WBEN) A Buffalo man will spend five years in jail after admitting to trying to run down Buffalo Police Officers. 24 year old Kenneth Pringle was sentenced this morning.

It was during an ice storm in December 2016 when an officer tried to pull Pringle over for an expired inspection sticker. Pringle then led the officer on a car chase. He was stuck behind traffic at the intersection of Best Street and Masten Avenue in Buffalo when the officer exited his vehicle and approached Pringle’s car. Two other officers responded to the intersection to help and exited their vehicles on Masten Avenue and walked in the oncoming traffic lane toward Pringle’s car on Best Street. Pringle then turned his car into the oncoming lane, accelerated his vehicle and drove directly at the assisting officers.

The officers had to jump out of the way and over a snowbank to avoid being hit by the car.

Pringle then led police on a car chase to his home where he was apprehended while attempting to run into his house.

Pringle pleaded guilty in November 2017 to attempted assault.
