Man charged in Clarence stabbing

Deputies say suspect, victim knew each other

Clarence, NY (WBEN) Erie County Sheriff's Deputies arrest of a 41-year-old Clarence male after he attacked an elderly male Thursday.

Deputies say they responded to a call at a residence on Manor Wood Lane, and the caller stated a known individual stabbed him.  While en route to the scene, a Deputy observed a male covered in blood and fitting the description of the subject walking along Sawmill Road. That person, Jonathan McKibben was taken into custody without incident and turned over to Detectives.

Detectives arrested and charged Jonathan McKibben with felony counts of attempted murder, assault 2nd - with intent to injure using a weapon, assault 2nd - injure a victim 65-years or older, criminal contempt – violate an order of protection, and burglary – cause physical injury. The defendant is also charged with a misdemeanor count of criminal possession of a weapon – intent to use.

McKibben is held at the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment.
